I am playing a 30/15 right now....since I cannot play fast games anymore due to the lag and disconnections...guess what: my opponent ( PurpleCat) has made 3 moves in a row without me able to make my move answering....damn place!...is NOT fun....

We have been complaining so many times but what to do we are not programmers.

Thanks to post my game Ecotopia: if you reproduce the game u will realize that from move 22 i could not make those moves since the possition of my pieces would not make it possible...ergo: he made those 3 moves by himself in a row!!...haha...that way I am sure I can beat Gladiator!....well 2 of 5....maybe!

After playing a long game versus Tomorob with lags of 50 o more secs per move...(yuck!) I finally won by his resignation...

.. Does Costa Rica, have a satellite link, to the Internet? .. One guess, for your delay; Could be; That your phone lines might have to cross your giant northern neighbor, of Mexico.
 
One scenario, for the unacceptable time-lag; Is that your land-line connection, {if that's what it is?}; Is being 'monitored' or 'tapped'; By, 2 or 3 different governments!; Your native country, Mexico; And the 'US'! .. I take it, {BladeRunner}, that your online chess games; Are Not a 'cover,' for nefarious activities!? --

The site lag is making gameplay a joke. 10-20 second lag is common on almost every game many days. Don't blame the internet, my connection or anything else but the backend on Caissa. Fix it people.

This is really a checkmate for G2 and G1 games... and specially for me where my biggest weapon is the speed I must concede better moves for strong players like you...

Speed of thought is the essence of g/2, isn't it? With a very high lag time, the whole of the game is reduced to anticipating what the lag will be, and how long you'll have to wait. I had a G/2 game recently that took at least 20 real time minutes. Now that I think of it - it might have been against Nikko, lol.
 

I'm curious...the "Lag counter" in the top RH corner of the screen reads them off in "ms" units....what are those ?

"ms," is the abbreviation for milliseconds, {or one-thousandth of a second}, 'lag'; If it reads '1.'
 
So, if for example; Your screen reads: "500 ms"; The delay involved, from it being transmitted, from the 'Caissa' server, {computer sender & receiver}, in Houston Texas, {I'd imagine}; Involves, half a second, of non-instant, gratification.
 
.. Even if it could be faster; I doubt that our brains would detect it!
Although obviously; There are sufficient examples of annoyingly long time delays, on this site!
 
For instance; 'Rocky,' from, Puerto Rico {for example}; Literally has his clock gain seconds, whenever I play him. It wasn't until recently, that other peoples' posts Re. this 2 min. game lag, made me realize; That he {Rocky} really is Not, a 'time cheat'/hacker-genius!
 
Anyway; With his chosen 'avatar,' being a posing boxer; That by itself, should tell anyone, that he's No 'Einstein'! --

I'm having new and infuriating problems with lag times. Erratic, fluctuating lags that might go from a consistent 1 or 2 during a game, to 30 and 40 in a tight, 2 or 5 minute game. Admin ignores my emessage complaints. my membership is due in February and before I reup, I"m going to call the office and find out what they're doing about this.
