About Minefield
Sample Board A Minefield starting position.

Minefield is a game of deduction and elimination. The board consists of a number of identical squares, some of which have mines hidden underneath them. The goal is to uncover all of the "safe" squares while leaving the mined squares untouched.

The player selects squares to uncover one at a time. When a safe square is chosen, it can reveal a digit from 1 to 8 which indicates the number of adjacent squares containing mines.

Employing logic, the player can use these numbers to deduce that certain other squares are mined, in which case they can be avoided, or safe, in which case they can be uncovered to provide further clues.

Unlike many other similar games, Minefield is always solvable by logical deduction and never requires the player to guess in order to complete the game.
